Angela M. Alban, president and CEO of SIMETRI, Inc., was appointed a three-year term to the Emergency Medical Advisory Council by State Surgeon General and Secretary of Health, Dr. John Armstrong.
“I am honored to have been selected by Dr. Armstrong to serve on this council,” Alban said. “I hope to bring some of the experiences and knowledge I have gained through my work with both the Department of Defense and our state’s first responders, to help the Council meet its objectives to promote and sustain a cooperative environment among all providers of EMS in Florida.“
Working with the Department of Defense and with both emergency and non-emergency healthcare professionals in the state of Florida, Alban’s company develops, produces and evaluates technologies and products to fill medical training gaps for first responders and clinicians.
Alban earned her master’s degree in computer engineering from University of Central Florida, and has a cross-functional business background and experience in training and simulation. Her company, SIMETRI, Inc., is a leading technology firm developing medical and healthcare training. The company has earned numerous honors, most recently named as a 2015 Top Simulation & Training company by Military Training Technology magazine, the fourth consecutive year SIMETRI received that recognition.
