Since 1997, the Don Quijote Awards have been given to honor business members of the Hispanic community in Central Florida. The awards, presented by the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Orlando and Prospera, recognize the “hardworking, innovative entrepreneurs who exhibited the spirit of Don Quijote: visionaries, dreamers and business men and women who were willing to take risks in order to achieve those dreams.”

There are five categories that business owners, community leaders, and professionals can be awarded: Hispanic Business of the Year, Five Years or Less; Hispanic Business of the Year, More than Five Years;  Professional of the Year; Excellence; and Hispanic Community Champion. Each year one person is given the Lifetime Achievement award, as well.

SIMETRI, Inc., is honored to have been selected as a finalist in the Hispanic Business of the Year, More than Five Years category. Angela Albán, CEO and president, was recognized as a finalist at a press conference on Nov. 7. The winners of each category will be announced at the Don Quijote Awards gala on Dec. 14, 2019, at Epcot’s World Showcase Pavilion.
