United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) was founded in 1955 to help children with cerebral palsy and has evolved throughout its history to help children with any disability or developmental delay as well as children without disabilities. Today, UCP of Central Florida empowers children with and without disabilities to achieve their potential by providing individualized support, education and therapy in an inclusive environment.
For the last three years, SIMETRI has sponsored UCP’s Poker at the Palace, the annual Texas Hold ‘Em Poker Tournament where attendees play POKER for a PURPOSE. The event features professional dealers to ensure a fun and exciting time for all, as well as opportunities for exciting prizes, and complimentary food and beverages for all players.
“Poker at the Palace has already become a tradition for our SIMETRI family and friends,” said Angela Alban, president and CEO. “This event is fast-paced, and fun, plus even those who aren’t poker players, or have never even played cards before, can participate and have a great time for an even better cause.”
The 2016 Poker for a Purpose and Evening at the Palace Gala raised more than $400,000 plus received an additional $200,000 in in-kind donations.
Last year, UCP helped more than 3,000 children with and without disabilities, but they believe there are many more who can benefit from their programs. For more information about UCP, their programs, or how you can help, visit www.ucpcfl.org.
