Job Description

SIMETRI is in search of a Configuration Manager at our headquarters location in Winter Park, Florida, who will lead all configuration management efforts for our engineering and production teams. This role will maintain Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) related compliance activities for the teams and identify, implement, and maintain configuration management processes. The Configuration Manager will develop and maintain software repositories in support of all development activities and maintain version control of all deliverables and physical assets.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Responsible for identifying and implementing configuration management processes. Review and recommend improvements to existing processes.
  2. Responsible for creating and maintaining the program Configuration Management Plan.
  3. Responsible for configuration identification of software and documentation, including assigning unique ID numbers and ensuring version control.
  4. Maintain version control of software and documentation.
  5. Implement and maintain a physical CM Library, providing controlled access and reproducing data as needed.
  6. Regulate the change process to ensure only approved and validated changes are incorporated into program products.
  7. Track CDRL due dates, ensuring timely delivery and configuration control of all versions.
  8. Organize and support recurring Configuration Control Board, providing agendas and meeting minutes.
  9. Coordinate with customers and subcontractors to merge external documentation input into common program-controlled documents.
  10. Perform configuration status accounting, generating ad hoc reports as required.
  11. Update and track Discrepancy Reports.
  12. Participate in team meetings.
  13. Perform and support audits to verify that the requirements of all baselines have been met.
  14. Identify, package, duplicate, and deliver release products to multiple fielded sites and the government.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university, or comparable experience; two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Willingness to attend continuing education and/or certification programs in specific technical areas.

Skills/Experience Requirements:

  • Define manageable CM processes (checkout/checkin, build, release, etc.) and implement them.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Knowledgeable in Windows operating systems.
  • Proficient in the use of CM tools (Git, GitKraken).
  • Familiarity with media duplicating tools and software.
  • Evaluate the current environment, identify needs, and propose a recommended CM solution.
  • Take initiative, communicate with team members, and identify and resolve potential issues.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written are required.

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general system requirements and specifications, scientific periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.,). Ability to deal with a variety of abstract concepts.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should know multiple software development environments and operating systems. The individual should also have a working knowledge of the suite of Microsoft Office applications.
